Inside Sales Representative - New Jersey

Classification: Full Time with Full Benefits
Compensation: $28,000 to $40,000 per year

Clayton Associates, Inc. (www.DustlessMadeSimple.com) in Lakewood, NJ is looking for an inside sales professional. Clayton manufactures dust collection tools and equipment for commercial and military aerospace customers. Our primary customers include: USAF, Navy, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Gulfstream, American Airlines, Delta, Bell Helicopter, etc. We build tools and equipment for the maintenance of aircraft like the F-35, F-22, C-17, and civilian aircraft.

This position will require a candidate who is able to work very well in a small team environment. This person will be responsible for managing and growing accounts through phone and email communications.

This position will report directly to the National Sales Manager. The inside sales person will be assigned to 1-2 outside sales persons. The candidate will be required to manage geographical territories by teaming with the outside sales person to maximize sales efforts. The inside sales person will assist in scheduling appointments, following up on sales presentations, annotating CRM software with territory activities, and prospecting new customers.

This position will be an inside position, but may require occasional travel (2-4 weeks per year) to attend tradeshows or to join outside sales persons for calls. Training for the position will involve 1-2 weeks of factory work doing light assembly on the production floor to gain an understanding of the equipment. Some heavy lifting may be required.

Candidates MUST have outstanding communication skills, and the ability to write clearly and concisely, without spelling errors, grammatical errors, etc. Preferred candidates will have strong mechanical aptitude - Clayton sells tools and equipment, so inside sales persons will need to be very comfortable with technical conversations. A knowledge of the aerospace industry is preferred. Military experience is a plus.

Strong computer skills are REQUIRED. Candidates must be very comfortable with the full Microsoft Office Suite, and be able to easily navigate spreadsheets, MS Word documents, and Microsoft Outlook. Preferred candidates will have experience with CRM software (ACT, Goldmine, Salesforce.com, etc.)

ENGINEERING

Clayton Associates, Inc. (www.DustlessMadeSimple.com) in Lakewood, NJ is looking for a mechanical engineer with experience in product design, mechanical drawing, etc. Clayton manufactures dust collection tools and equipment for commercial and military aerospace customers. Because the bulk of our products involve vacuum systems and compressed air powered tools, a knowledge of fluid dynamics is highly desired.We build products from machined aluminum, injection molded plastic, vacuum formed plastic, steel, wire forms, etc. This position will require a candidate who is able to handle multiple projects, taking the products from concept through production. This person will be solely responsible for drawing, engineering, and working with outside vendors to fabricate prototypes and tooling for final production.Candidate must be comfortable using the internet to source parts (fasteners, latches, electrical parts, etc). Preferred candidates have 5+ years experience in mechanical engineering and product design, and must be exceptionally versatile.

Note:This is an exceptionally cool company to work for – very small, very cutting edge, and very focused.This job is not for someone who wants a desk job and a very narrowly defined job description.You will need to roll up your sleeves, and become involved in the production of the products. You may be called upon to help in the production or installation of vacuum systems or components.You may be asked to travel for meetings or trade shows, but that would be very infrequent (several times per year).
